My Location: Loading The Florida Aquatic Pesticide License is available either as a Public certification, for those applicators that apply herbicides to bodies of water and that work for federal, state, county or municipal public agencies, or as a Commercial certification for contractors for aquatic pesticide work. The Florida Forest Pesticide License is available either as a Public certification, for those applicators that apply pesticides to row crops and that work for federal, state, county or municipal public agencies, or as a Commercial certification for contractors.
The Florida Limited Commercial Maintenance License is available only for Landscape Maintenance Contractors applying pesticides to their customers' properties. This license is sometimes incorrectly called the "Roundup License". Products are limited to "Caution" labels only, not "Warning" or "Danger" labels. Applications are limited to beds and shrubs, not turf. Application equipment is limited to backpacks and handheld pump-up sprayers; not powered equipment.
This certification no longer requires documentation of 3 years experience in Landscape Maintenance. Each applicator must be licensed and may not supervise other applicators. Six hours of training, an application, and proof of insurance is required. Note : the application has not yet been changed to reflect changes in license requirements; the documentation of experience is no longer required. Contact the Extension Office in your county to determine if they offer Exam Prep Classes for this license; or check the Calendar of Events for upcoming training in the Hillsborough County area.

The Florida Pest Control Operator License , is available only to Commercial Contractors applying pesticides to their customers' properties. This certification is only available to those with documentation of 3 years experience working "under" someone with the same category of this certification. Exam Prep Classes may be available in your area. Renewal is due by June 1st of each year.
The license cannot be renewed after days beyond June 1st. It is also the intent of the Legislature that the commission guide, review, approve, and coordinate all aquatic plant management programs within each of the water management districts as defined in paragraph 2 g.
It is the intent of the Legislature to account for the costs of aquatic plant management programs by watershed for comparison purposes. The commission may delegate all or part of such functions to any appropriate state agency, special district, unit of local or county government, commission, authority, or other public body. However, special attention shall be given to the keeping of accounting and cost data in order to prepare the annual fiscal report required in subsection 7.
However, any claim or claims required to be paid under this section shall be paid from money appropriated to the aquatic plant management program. The recipient of such delegation shall, in accepting commitments to engage in aquatic plant management activities, be subject to the rules of the commission. Participants may take either the Aquatic or Core exam or both. Participants have up to three hours per exam.

There is no charge for this class or to take either of these exams. If the applicator already has a restricted use pesticide applicator license, there is not a charge to add a category.
