Can you play any ps3 games in 3d

And Naughty Dog decided to do their high-quality 3D because of their split-screen implementation, which made it much easier to implement.

Yes deathspear I call it as it is in reality not marketing fanboy land. Luckily it evolved into HDtv before it hit the market. And lets be completely honest here HD programming has been slow in coming and still commands a stiff increase in premium pricing. Blu-rays have come down in price on older movies but anything new either on disc or pay services is a lot more costly. Thats not even mentioning the complete and utter lack of content, beyond a short list of PS3 games theres very little in the way of 3D blu ray movies and virtually nothing in the way of 3D broadcasting yet.

Really onepiece anime? I already blew away your silly propaganda before you even posted. The biggest flaw I see in the graphics is that the trees are still rendered as a 2D model as a flat plane. But you really only notice that if you are staring at the trees before you get shot.

Also, about no game running in hz, how about movies? Wipeout HD runs at a fast framerate while in P also. There is a game on the ps3 that runs at Hz…. Super Stardust HD does. It runs at 60 frames per second on each eye in 3D. My experience was unchanged…. I was more annoyed by the technology that benefited by it.

Only games that really seem to show any kind of extra immersion from it is racing games like GT5. I felt Killzone 3 benefited more from the sharp shooter and Move though I have my complaints as noted in the past than anything the 3D technology has done for me. I have to wonder if the visuals of KZ3 were compromised because of 3D as the game lacked something visually from KZ2 that still haunts me today.

Thanks for the feedback. I think it depends on the game and how the tech is used. Why is Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 3D not available for rental? Have your Sony peeps call their Sony peeps and fix it, please. And enjoy it I do. Granted the content is slowly becoming greater, but as you said, same thing occurred with HD. If you build it, they will come…Soon enough there will be glasses free technology, but the pop-out effect will not be there, it will be a depth effect.

A disneyland style 3D pop-out effect is an expensive tech. If the money is there though, the tech will get better and consumers buying 3D now will only help to make 3D better, sooner. And yes, motorstorm apocalypse in 3D is so nice! Yet I only have the demo, will be getting the game next pay check!

I think that in some ways the games could look better because if the game is in 3D the PS3 must render the images twice for each eye, so a lot of processing power goes there. I know that right now Uncharted 3 looks better than 2, even with the 3D implemented, but imagine how crazy it would look without the 3D and using all the processing power to enhance the graphics. I say there were compromises made considering Naughty Dog flaunted the PS3 as still having unlocked potential.

None of us asked for 3D, but Sony gave it to us anyway. Killzone 2 was a masterpiece of visuals, what happened with killzone 3? Instead of taking it a step further its being spent on stabilizing the visuals at U2 quality in order to deliver 3D. Character models seemed to have the largest improvement in Uncharted 3, the game mechanics are quite different, but I like them.

Having a hardcore mode with no boosters is great, and the power plays online seem like a good idea. Not sure if I like the sprinting system though.

Makes me wonder at the number of compromises were being made before and how good things could be had Naughty Dog spent that effort on just making the game look better. Frame Rate could have been improved without 3D among other things.

Anyway lets hope I get that dawning moment that changes everything, but at present I still feel like this is a wasted effort. The 3D effects were pretty much the only thing I enjoyed in that game. I think they are awesome and they get me excited for the final product. None of that is impacted by 3D or really has anything to do with 3D for that matter.

There is more detail here and there which is a plus. Rock on :. Agree nikrel. For the cost of 3D tvs there is just not enough 3D content to justify the cost…. Motorstorm has to much crosstalk.

Black Ops was OK but it was not helpful feature. Good catch this stuff can be a little confusing. Thanks for the tip, Joe! Is it there or am I being oblivious as usual? It appears that this was not offered in the US — my crack team of researchers had me pull it off my initial draft list.

Nice List! If I could afford an overpriced 3d tv this might excite me. Hopefully somebody will invent a standalone reciever that adds 3d to exsisting tvs. Heck I just barely was able to afford my 45 inch HD last year. Yoy forgot Socom 4 is 3D and slated for a release…. Nice to see the amount of titles with support for 3d granted I wont be getting a 3d tv anytime soon unless my tv dies. But I will still wait a bit. It would be more work NOT to support it, and that would only annoy people to no end.

Incidentally, the 3D implementation of Avatar: The Game is terrible. Rather than using the HDMI1. Thanks for the leads! But it can be great. Movies need to utilize the technology in a way that simply blows peoples minds. I want to walk out of the theater with an awe inspired look on my face.

If this can be accomplished then 3D can shake the gimmick status that many seem to think it is. I only notice because I have the useless version. A few weeks ago I was wondering this! Greatest Hits maybe…. I love Sony and all their innovations for us gamers.

I have a suggestion going forward. This will provide gamers the true realistic experience and will be a major differentiator from our competition. It will also show the media and the gamers that Sony is putting more and more faith in Move.

Join my weeping on my cue… :. Toshiba said they were going to make a 3D tv without glasses early next year. Log In Sign Up. Keep me logged in on this device Forgot your username or password? I just wonder if it can also run ps3 games in 3d mode if the game supports it BiggieY2Killer 4 years ago 2. Wipeout is getting VR and Stardust already has it added though. BiggieY2Killer posted
